It is one of those must books to stimulate one's thinking on the subject. In fact the "simple cell" is so very complicated, the interrelated parts so dependent on one another, how could they have evolved separately, and without function, until the sum of the parts were complete.
HUMMMM, good point. Behe reasons.
Behe's work is interesting, intellectually stimulating and thought provoking. Is the "simple cell" simple.
Enjoyed the book, grew with it, recommend it for all. Yes, do read it, if you believe in creation or if you believe in strict Darwinian evolution.
Are we the products of blind chance, is there scientific evidence for God's existence, or hand in the creation of life on earth.
Not anymore. I used to teach evolution. This book is so easy to understand because the author allows you to choose the level of understanding that you would like to acquire and still keep the main ideas intact. As a Biology major and an ordained minister I recommend this kind of reading to all of you out there that are still having difficulties understanding Darwin in light of religion.
Behe makes the best case to datefor Intelligent Design. Intellignet Design is a breath offresh air in the Creation / EvolutionDebate. Pick Up On It. "Will Evolve For Food".I keep hoping tosee an ape or man in an ape suit holdinga sign on a street corner with one. We seeso many people with 'Will Work for Food'signs that it'd be nice to see someonegoing after Big Brother for the EvolutionHoax.
Behe provides an accurate and up-to-date understanding of these biological systems that was not available at the time of Darwin. As a dedicated, mainstream scientist who has conducted high quality research at two leading biomedical institutions, I highly recommend this book to anyone who is truly committed to authentic scientific exploration whether it be in the biological sciences or any other branch. Dr. This book provides an excellent account for the intricate complexities encountered in an orgransim as well as those found in individual cells. It provides sound examples of complex biochemical pathways that make a gradualistic explanation of their origination highly improbable.
He had not run int this book and was quite interested when I told him about it.The new book came in short order after I oudered it from Amazon.com. I bought the book for a College Professor friend who teaches freshman biology. The book is very interesting as it updates an old Biologist/Ecologist on many bio chemical data. It is written in a nonsectarian manner showing that Darwin was wrong because he did not have the instruments to work on the molecular level.
